Construction firm HTH Companies, Inc., implemented applicant tracking and onboarding with Arcoro when their old HR systems weren’t working. They saw huge improvements. Here’s their story.

HTH Companies, Inc., headquartered in Union, Missouri, provides construction services to commercial and industrial customers throughout the Midwest and surrounding states—from scaffolding erection to industrial cleaning and maintenance.

Before implementing the Arcoro talent management suite in 2017, HTH Companies Inc.’s manual HR processes were both time-consuming and expensive.

Expensive job boards weren’t working

Before implementing Arcoro, the applications HTH Companies received through Indeed and other job boards were incomplete. Recruiters were becoming frustrated with the lack of information they received in exchange for the cost.

“We weren’t getting the information we requested for any applicants previously because the job boards would parse that out. Previous job duties weren’t even listed in the applications we received from Indeed,” said Cynthia Rice, Career Coordinator at HTH Companies, Inc. “It was especially frustrating because we had a pay-per-click contract, so it was becoming very expensive and we weren’t getting much value for our money.”

Making payroll a breeze

HTH Companies now uses Arcoro’s Applicant Tracking System (ATS) module to distribute jobs around the 14 states they serve with one click. The customized screening and scoring questions help HTH Companies, Inc. hire for a wide variety of competencies for positions ranging from general laborers to confined space rescue technicians.

“I really like that you can customize any job posting to any trade – the pre-screening questions are very specific, and so the candidates that pass the pre-screening and submit their application are all immersed in that trade,” said Abbigail Britton, Recruiter at HTH Companies, Inc.

“We evaluated three vendors. When we found Arcoro and all that the system offered, it really fit what we needed,” Rice said. The HTH recruiting team enjoys the ease of use and the time they save on pre-screening candidates that are unqualified. “If we have a job that requires OSHA 10 and they indicate they don’t have experience with it, they automatically go into the “Not Selected” bucket. It’s handy and much faster than calling to conduct a pre-screen.”
